Acting on behalf of an underaged child

In the StellarQ My service, it is possible to act on behalf of a underaged child if:

Acting on behalf of a minor child is not possible if:

  • The child is in foster care
  • The child has a non-disclosure order
  • The child’s guardian has a non-disclosure order

In the above-mentioned cases, the child’s guardians can jointly authorize one or both guardians to act on behalf of the child. Instructions for guardians to grant mandates independently to manage the affairs of a child in the Suomi.fi online service.

A joint custody agreement can also affect acting on behalf of the child. If the joint custody agreement is registered in code form in the population information system, acting on behalf of the child is possible according to the agreement. If the joint custody agreement is not registered in code form, the guardians can independently mandate each other to act on behalf of the child through the Suomi.fi online service. When you want to act on behalf of a minor child, your right to do so will be verified through the Suomi.fi authorizations based on information in the Population Information System. You can check your own information on the Suomi.fi online service under the section Personal data.

You can act on behalf of a minor child in the following matters:

  • Manage self-reporting data
  • Receive notifications on behalf of the child
